Non-Profit Consulting
Sally has devoted much of her professional life to running successful and meaningful non-profits. From 1994 to 2000 she was the Development Director and then Deputy Director of the Land and Water Fund of the Rockies (now Western Resource Advocates), a regional environmental advocacy organization based in Boulder, Colorado, with a budget of over 2 million dollars.
From 2007 to 2017, Sally was the Executive Director of Durango Nature Studies, an environmental education organization and Nature Center in Durango, Colorado. During her time there, she built the organization from a small, sturggling non-profit, to a strong and integral part of the community. Under her tenure, the organization became a model for the state in school program partnerships, as well as a leader in providing popular camps, day programs, and workshops for the community. She diversified funding by building four annual events: an Earth Day Festival, a Bluegrass Festival, an Online Auction, and an Annual Environmental Film Festival. Visit Durango Nature Studies at www.durangonaturestudies.org to see all that it continues to offer.
She has also served on an advisory board for the Center for the American West and the Board of Directors for the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education.
